Paperchain Links to Unite the World

Kids for Peace wants to set a Guinness World Record for the longest ever paperchain. The organization is asking people around the world to join them in making the chain by contributing links with messages of ‘love and hope’ on each one. “Link by link, we will demonstrate that we truly are connected and we are all in this together!”

Kindness Unites Paperchain Campaign

The goal is to create a paperchain infused with kindness and inspiration that spans over 110 miles in length! In order to achieve this, Kids for Peace will need to collect over two million chain links in total! So far, the organization is making great progress and hopes to hit its final numbers, setting its world record by World Kindness Day 2021!

How to Contribute a Paperchain Link

  1. Use Recycled/Reused Paper – First things first, Kids for Peace asks that participants use recycled or reused paper for their chain links. Two million links is a lot of paper so their hope is to be environmentally conscious throughout the process. The team suggests participants use old cereal boxes, scrap paper, old shopping bags, or mailing envelopes; anything that has already been used and would otherwise be recycled.
  2. Measure/Cut – According to Kids for Peace, “Each strip must be between 11 inches – 18 inches long and 1.5 inches wide.”
  3. Decorate with Messages of Kindness – Now that materials are gathered and links have been cut to size, it’s time to for the fun part: decorating the links with messages that will inspire the world and spread hope and love!
  4. Once steps 1-3 are complete, all that’s left to do is mail the links to Kids for Peace!

Setting the World Record

The paperchain will be officially measured to set the new Guinness World Record on World Kindness Day, November 13th, 2021. At this point, the chain will be cut into sections and distributed to “hospitals, senior centers, libraries and more as a beautiful reminder that we are all #LinkedByLove!”

To Kids for Peace…

A giant thank you to the Kids for Peace team and all the link contributors around the world. After the last year and a half, we can’t think of a more beautiful sentiment to promote. Linked by love and in this together. We’re looking forward to the main event in November!
